Created as part of my MFA thesis, LetterForm is an educational project that illustrates basic formal principles of typography through four interactive exercises:

—Making a Letter lets users explore formal qualities such as weight, contrast, and width by manipulating each with dynamic sliders.

—Classification lets users watch the animated evolution of the letterforms “Aa” through four historical periods and examine typefaces from each.

—Anatomy is an interactive dictionary of terminology used to describe letterforms. —Proportion demonstrates the relationship between x-height and width for five distinct typefaces.
